Eastern Suburbs Termite and Pest Control

Why You Need Annual Pest Treatment & What It Covers

So… You’re wondering if it’s worth doing pest control every year?

Let me tell you — if you want to avoid creepy crawlies suddenly appearing out of nowhere, then yes, a yearly pest treatment is one of the smartest things you can do for your home.

It’s All About Prevention

Most people wait until they’ve got a pest problem before calling someone out — but by then, it’s too late. You’re reacting instead of preventing. Regular general pest treatments keep insects like cockroaches, spiders, ants, and silverfish away before they even have a chance to settle in.

Here at Eastern Suburbs Termite and Pest Control, we know exactly where pests like to hide and how to stop them — both inside and out. Our annual general pest treatment is designed to give you long-lasting protection and peace of mind.

What’s Actually Included in Our Service?

EXTERNAL AREAS

All your usual creepy crawlies start from the garden mulch, plants and trees and work their way into your house.
That’s why we hit them hard from the outside first:

  • Garden beds and mulch zones
  • Fence line perimeters (including spider webbing)
  • Verandas, patios, pergolas, rubbish bins
  • Sheds, garages, letterboxes, and external building perimeters
  • Window frames, under awnings, downpipes, and all entry/exit points

DUSTING TREATMENT

We apply a knockdown powder treatment to all the hidden spaces pests love to hang out in. This includes:

  • Subfloor areas
  • Weep holes and air vents
  • Roof void spaces
  • Cracks, gaps, and crevices around buildings
This helps flush out cockroaches, spiders, crickets, and other crawling insects from their hiding spots.

INTERNAL AREAS

Cockroach Gel Baiting

We apply professional-grade gel bait to all kitchen cupboards and around electrical devices where cockroaches love to hide. That includes fridges, toasters, microwaves, kettles, power points, hot water tank systems, and even your internet router.

Spraying

We’re not lazy about it — we actually move appliances where needed! In the kitchen, we pull out fridges and dishwashers. In the laundry, we move washers and dryers. We spray behind all of them, plus we cover:

  • Skirting boards in every room — bedrooms, bathrooms, hallways, stairwells, and storage areas
  • Window ledges (internally and externally)
  • Doorway entry/exit points
  • Around and behind couches, beds, tables, and other furniture

We also apply aerosol spray to internal cracks, gaps, and crevices to hit any spots pests might be using as harborage. And we place insect monitoring devices throughout the home — these help prevent cockroaches from spreading and act as a great way to track any pest activity between treatments.

How Long Does It Last?

Our treatments are designed to last 6–12 months, depending on the environment and conditions. Unlike supermarket sprays, our products contain stronger active ingredients and have longer residual protection — and they’re still safe for pets and kids once dry.

How Much Should It Cost?

We’re upfront with our pricing. A standard residential general pest treatment generally ranges from around $160 to $240 (depending on property size). You’ll get a thorough service with no shortcuts — and you don’t need to prep or move anything beforehand, we’ll take care of that.

The Bottom Line

Whether you’ve seen pests or just want to avoid them, getting your home treated annually is the best way to protect your family, pets, and property. Give us a call today if you’d like a quote, need help, or just want honest advice. We’re happy to chat and help however we can.
